#!2 Brooks Chevrolet driver Chip Jones gets picture taken after Feature win in Street Stock |
Whynot Motorsports Park standout, & participant in the Mississippi Super Street
Showdown, driver Carl “Chip” Jones of #12 Jones Motorsports, had some exciting news to announce today. Brooks Motors ( buyatbrooks.com,) of Thomasville AL, recently signed on for another year as a full
time sponsor for Jones Motorsports as they get ready to run for the
championship in the newly formed Mississippi
Super Street Showdown series.
Chip Jones
& his father (Carl Ray Jones), of Sweetwater AL, were regulars at Whynot Motorsports Park in 2012, after
moving up from the Pure Stock division
in 2011. It was on June 30, 2012 when Chip was able to bring his #12 Jones Motorsports & “High Roller
Chassis” to its first Heat win of the season, but unfortunately finished a
dismal 11th in the feature after getting into a late accident.
After almost a month off
due to wet weather, (August 11, 2012) Jones Motorsports brought a rocket ship
to Whynot Motorsports Park. The “Brooks Motors Chevy” sponsored #12 was fast off the hauler that night
, as he was able to collect his 2nd Heat win of the season. Jones
Motorsports and Chip showed their true strength as a competitive team,
earning the nickname "Dirt-Track Rockstar", by beating
out crowd favorite #7x Kyle
Rutledge and #2G Jeffery Walker and sweeping
the night, taking his first Street Stock feature win of 2012.

Chip was very confident
that the boost he received from his sponsor, Brooks Motors, will be what he needs to compete in this
year’s inaugural racing series. When earlier announcements were made about the
new NeSmith Street Stock series, Chip was very
excited saying “I’m glad they formed this new Street Stock division”. He added,
“Puts everybody on the same playing field and a real chance at promoting my
sponsors, with outside recognition and a cool trophy". With 3 wins already
under his belt, I look for Chip and the #12 Jones Motorsports Chevrolet to
be very competitive this upcoming season.
WhynotMotorsportsPark.com has not yet released their 2013 season schedule
but there are a few dates that are already set. The “World of Outlaws” Late Model Series will be making their debut at Whynot Motorsports Park on Saturday
March 23, 2013. Make sure you make your hotel reservations early so that can
guarantee yourself a good time at one of the BIGGEST races in Whynot
Motorsports Park history.
