Future of Racing Lies in Small Hands

Young Man saluting American Flag during Anthem/YCFMEDIACORP

I(Chip Jones) have been thinking about this and came up with my own theory. I haven't been driving for 20 years but I have been around it (racing) my whole life. My dad(Carl Ray Jones) drove in the late 70's and 80's and now I am wheeling a car on the same track he did many years ago.(Chip drives #12 Brooks Chevy sponsored Street Stock Car)

So I grew up at the track scrapping mud of the car until I got bigger and could handle bigger task. Even after he(Carl Ray) got out of racing we still knew racers and helped them in the shop and at the tracks. So I guess you could say that tacky red clay was part of my upbringing.
I remember spending Saturday nights at Whynot (Whynot Motorsports Park, Whynot MSwhynotmotorsports.com just anticipating every race and picking my favorite car ( based on looks) as soon as they pulled on the track, and I would go to the concession stand and see a guy in a dirty old fire suit and just be star stuck thinking "there is a real race car driver". I have so many memories from the race track that I couldn't possibly list them all.
Now that I am a driver I have made memories that make me feel better than those of my childhood. I love the look on a kids face when I see them looking at my car and I ask them if they wanna sit in it hole(Drivers Cockpit)& their mom or dad takes pictures and then for them to see that very car on the track.
So whether you race to live or live to race the kids are the most important because with out their interest in racing it has no future.

Chip is a weekly driver out at Whynot Motorsports Park. You can find him on Facebook under Jones Motorsports and on Twitter @BenzBuilder_12. Chip is taking time to give the fans and YellowCautionFlag a chance to look into a drivers head as he prepares his weekly quest to become a winner and a champion at his local dirt track.
